9.0 - macOS app and a new name

Published on: January 28, 2024

Hi folks, it’s been a while since the last update. Couple of big changes in this release:

macOS App!

Do you enjoy World Calendar? Well now you can use it on macOS as well, and not just M1/M2 Macs which could run the iPad version, this is a proper native macOS app. The benefits of a real Mac app is that there’s better control over the size (I like to size it so I can see just 2 timezones, for example). Plus, it works on all Macs.

New Name

“World Calendar” (“World Cal” for short), the new app name for “Timezone Calendar” (“TZ Calendar” for short). Why the change? “Timezone” is pretty technical. People often call clocks that can show multiple timezones a “world clock”. Since this app can show you not just the current time, but also future times, and overlay your events, calling it “World Calendar” seemed to make sense.

Auto-sort

World Calendar can automatically sort your city list by timezones, just hit the star button.
